Doet me allemaal een beetje denken aan Inglorious Bastards, maar deze cast is veel interessanter Zeker als een paar van die geruchten nog uitkomen.

Ain’t it Cool has learned that UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture has joined the cast of Sylvester Stallone’s new action flick, The Expendables. The site has also confirmed that Forest Whitaker is also in the film, something that was rumored a few weeks back.
Robert Knepper has also joined the cast. The star of Fox’s Prison Break recently confirmed the news in an interview with the BBC. The three join Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren.
Stallone is writing and directing the flick, which centers on a group of mercenaries who are sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator to liberate the population. Their team is “expendable,” hired to do jobs that no one else can or will.
Avi Lerner, John Thompson and Kevin King Templeton, who worked with Stallone on Rambo, are producing the film with executive producers Boaz Davidson, Trevor Short and Danny Dimbort.
Filming begins in March in Brazil.

Why Van Damme turned down a role in 'The Expendables':

In a new interview with Total Film magazine, Van Damme explains why he refused a part that could have potentially put him back on the map. It wasn’t because he wasn’t happy with Stallone’s offer, he says, but because the director could not tell him what the movie would be about. In doing so, Van Damme proves once more that he is, indeed, a changed man, an actor no longer willing to make compromises in terms of his career.

“Stallone gave me a part in his next movie. But I ask him about the subject, about the story.” Van Damme tells the magazine. “He said, ‘You’re gonna make lots of money.’ I don’t want to hear that, I want to hear what was my character. He was unable to tell what it’s going to be.” [Stallone said:] ‘You know, uh, well, the fighting will be good.’ [So I said:] ‘Sly, what is my character?’ So I didn’t do the movie.” the actor further points out.

Dit vond ik enige tijd geleden. Ik blijf het een slechte zet van hem vinden.

Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to be playing Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables. He will be shooting for one day.

Ben Kingsley is also reportedly out as the dirty bastard CIA sob, Eric Roberts is in, and Mickey Rourke has finally signed on officially. Latino Review says Danny Trejo has a role in the film as well.

The action-adventure also stars Stallone, Forest Whitaker, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Dolph Lungdren.

Ja ind Zeer "dom" van Van Damme..maar ja of er al een conclusie is dat ze hier veel geld mee binne zulle hale? Ben wel benieuwd of dit echt zo flauwe/corny action movie word..

Ik denk dat dit meer een bloederige actiefilm ala Rambo wordt met hopelijk de humor van het eerste gedeelte van Predator ( De dialogen tussen de huurlingen onderling ).

Dit is gewoon de ziekste cast in jaren, en nu al de film waar ik het meest naar uitkijk voor 2010. Zonder één van beide films gezien te hebben weet ik nu al dat ik hier meer plezier aan ga beleven als aan Inglourious Basterds al is het maar omdat Stallone duidelijk voor de fans van het actiegenre aan het werken is en precies nog een laatste keer alles uit de kast wil halen.

Het zal met deze cast in ieder geval een film zijn met genoeg aktie, ik hoop stiekem dat het een beetje een corny jaren 80 achtige film gaat worden, een hommage aan in ieder geval twee van de acteurs die dat genre in die tijd gedragen hebben, Dolph Lundgren en Sylvester Stallone
